What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is that science and art which uses the inherent recuperative powers of the body and deals with the relationship between the nervous system and the spinal column, including its immediate articulations, and the role of this relationship in the restoration and maintenance of health. -A. E. Homewood
What is Animal Chiropractic?
Animal Chiropractic is the health care discipline similar to human chiropractic except that it focuses on the animal spine and its relationship to the nervous system and motion. It is a holistic approach to care that encompasses all components of the animal patient's body and life. It is a natural approach meaning that no drugs or surgery are utilized. Animal Chiropractic is a system of adjusting spinal segments and joints by hand in order to restore proper nervous function. It does not replace traditional veterinary medicine, but the two work closely together to offer optimal care for our animal family members.
Dr. Maryann Lopez is a chiropractor licensed by the State of Texas. She is a graduate of the University of Houston, Texas A & M University at Kingsville and Texas Chiropractic College. Following her desire to work with animals as well as continue with chiropractic, she enrolled in the Animal Chiropractic Program at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. After extensive training and examination, she became certified in Animal Chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA). Shortly thereafter, Dr. Lopez started Paw Prints Animal Chiropractic providing mobile services to care for her animal patients in Houston, Texas and the Gulf Coast area.
